“My overall experience at the university was awesome because I knew how to get the advantage of the possibilities provided”, says Augusto Hernandez who graduated from BSc Material Physics and Nanotechnology at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Kaunas University of Technology this June.

Augusto Hernandez, who at the moment is undertaking the internship at the Condensed Matter Physics Department at the University of Zaragoza in Spain, is grateful to KTU as a perfect starting ground.

“My experience at KTU was incredible. I grew up both on professional and on a personal level. Among the highlights of my studies are: my work with the research mentor, the foundation of my student organisation AOP KTU OSA Student Chapter, which provided me with the experience and knowledge of how international agreements between organisations and universities work, and the good friends from Iran, India and Lithuania that I found here”, says Augusto.

He is especially happy to have been able to take advantage of all the possibilities provided by the University. Augusto feels that from Lithuanian culture he learned different ways to see the world and enjoy parties. Living in Kaunas has made him meet people from different countries and backgrounds and to experience being independent from his parents.

Although Augusto was alone during virtual graduation, his friends and family joined him online.

“It was a great way to solve the problem caused by the pandemic. The virtual event gave me the sensation that I am sharing the experience with my beloved ones who are far away”, says Augusto.

Currently in Spain, on Erasmus+ graduate internship, Augusto is considering a couple of options for his further studies – to continue master’s at KTU or to choose studies in Spain.

Best wishes to Augusto Hernandez and lots of luck in the future!
