“Some people may call is culinary art or advanced gastronomy, or whatever, but it’s cooking. It’s that simple. Anybody can do it”, says Gavin Stewart teaching academic writing at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.
Teacher of linguistics, praised and loved by students, Gavin Stewart is also a private chef, organising theme culinary events on different topics.
“Linguistics is all about communication and it’s not a million miles from gastronomy, or, rather working with other people, because you have to be able to communicate. You have to be able to give clear information if you want that person to make that dish”, explains Gavin.
For him, the biggest reward is to see the table full of people eating silently, because they are enjoying food.
