Technorama 2025. Explore ideas that make a difference

Important | 2025-05-08

With the world changing faster than ever, what matters to society is not promises about the distant future but real and relevant solutions that work today. KTU’s innovation fair, Technorama 2025, invites you to create, experiment, and boldly present your innovations for positive change. The event’s prize fund is more than EUR 8,000.

The annual exhibition, which will take place at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Santaka Valley on 29 May this year, will bring together creators, researchers, inventors and all those who are looking for ways to find out how technological and innovative solutions can change our everyday life. According to the event organisers, participants will also receive valuable incentives – vouchers, expert advice, invitations to acceleration programmes and innovation events.

“Technorama is not only an exhibition where ideas are presented to the public for the first time, but also a platform for networking that can lead to a successful start-up,” the organisers emphasise. Similarly to the previous year, Technorama’s main partner is the Lithuanian branch of the IT company Rocket Software, which will be initiating a public pitch competition, Pitch Battle and setting up two cash prizes for the participants.

Diversity of themes and contemporary trends

Now in its third decade, Technorama 2025 presents a wide range of topics and invites potential exhibitors to present solutions that are relevant to the challenges of our time. Key topics include climate change mitigation, sustainable energy solutions, the growing demand for fossil raw materials, and the application of artificial intelligence in the fields of health, education and public services.

“Every year at Technorama, we observe innovation trends. For example, in recent years, solutions based on artificial intelligence have attracted a lot of attention. This is natural, as the participants of the exhibition strive to create what is relevant and necessary,” says Vaida Morkūnaitė-Mačiulienė, one of the organisers of the exhibition and the Entrepreneurship Development Manager at KTU Startup Space.

Equally important topics include social challenges, the sustainability of urban development, strengthening health and responding to other global challenges. This year, participants will have the opportunity to develop these themes with the help of technological resources available at the Young Lab, the creative space for young researchers of the KTU interdisciplinary prototyping laboratory centre M-Lab.

According to Tomas Proscevičius, the head of the KTU Young Lab, participants will be able to use the state-of-the-art Lab’s equipment to prepare a product prototype, choose the right tools for its completion and presentation, and gain valuable insights that will help them to effectively represent their product at the fair.

“Having access to the Young Lab equipment allows the participants to take their first step towards realising their idea, from sketch to working solution, with the help of mentors. By the way, anyone who wants to develop their prototypes in this creative space can do so by dropping by the Lab or by prior arrangement with the coordinators of the space,” says Proscevičius, the coordinator of the Technorama innovation fair.

Public voice to motivate young creators

Often, for Technorama participants, feedback from professionals and visitors is the key to further developing an idea. It is also a great opportunity to get in touch with potential partners, investors or mentors who can help with the growth.

“The event attracts more than a thousand visitors, including investors interested in new and potential start-ups. As a result, every solution presented is a step towards wider recognition or even commercial realisation,” say the organisers.

Participants will also receive feedback from the public. As every year, the Innovation Fair, together with its long-standing information partner, the Lrytas.lt news portal, will invite the public to contribute to the election of the most innovative idea.

“A few weeks before the event, readers of the portal will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite innovation presented by the exhibitors, and the most popular solution will be awarded with special sponsor prizes. This is a great opportunity not only to express your opinion, but also to contribute to the promotion of young creators,” add the organisers of Technorama. They will engage the general public not only during the voting process, but also by inviting them to watch special programmes where scientists, experts and start-ups will talk about the impact of technology and innovation on our everyday lives. The programmes will be broadcast on the Lrytas.lt news portal.

Registration is now open for the participants. Register your team until May 12th. For more information, please visit technorama.ktu.edu.
